Holding a lead

A friend of ours dropped by the other day and showed us the proper way to hold a lead so  the next time Shelby bolts for a squirrel, she won't get away. She doesn't look terribly thrilled about it in the photo, but it's for her safety.

Am I correct in assuming that if you hold the lead that way it won't slip out of your hands?

I found your website offered when I signed up for Yahoo DSL service and now have it on my Homepage. Very Very Cute. My dog Buddy is a Cairn Terrier (like Toto) and he just turned 12 yesterday. I just got a new camara and when I figure out how to download pics I'll send you one.

I look forward to hearing from Shelby each and every day!

I think so. I haven't really had a chance to really test it out, but our friend said that his dog trainer taught him to hold the lead this way, and to hold your hand at your stomach, your center of gravity. If Shelby finds another squirrel, I'll let you all know how it goes. :)
