How to eat a dandelion
An unusually serene photo of Shelby, prior to the destruction that is to follow.
As she often does, Shelby tastes things before swallowing them. I'm guessing that in the wild, this prevents the little scavengers from eating something that is rotten or poisonous. This is quite remarkable, considering this same little dog likes to eat cardboard boxes.
And then the devouring. As is the case with all other tasty morsels, Shelby doesn't "waste" time chewing.

I just adopted an 8 month old Pug on Monday. I have been Dreaming about getting a Pug for about 3 years now. And now the day has arrived. I have to say that he seems very non-traditional. He is peppy, funny, sweet and energetic. But the food thing...he is not a big food guy. And I dogsat a several times last year for a pug to get the feel for it...and well that dog...exhausting, eating anything and everything...lived for food. Loki (his name was Pepe but I didn't think it suited him) basically has little interest. I mean he eats his food. But one morsel at a time, and not all at once. He grazes more like a cat. Is that strange? Well I am going to go and read the rest of Shelby's postings to see what else I am in for....thanks

com'mon; a pug not having an appetite? they live for that stuff...unless, of course, you got a very unique, out of the ordinary pug.
Oh Shelby; how delicate you approached the dandilion, and how scrumptious it must have been. You go, girl!

Does Shelby receive grooming from her two loving humans, or does she visit the Puggy Beauty Salon for specialized attention?
I noticed that her natural "fur coat" always looks clean and neat! I voted for your site and checked out some of the other competition--but your Shelby is still
the Queen! Keep the daily adventures and
special happenings coming. Thank You.
We all love Shelby!!!

Shelby is indeed "home groomed." She gets a daily brushing with a shedding blade, and a bath every 2-3 weeks depending on what kind of mess she's made of herself. Every month or so, she gets her nails trimmed at PetSmart. No need to spend money on her for grooming. She would rather spend it on treats anyway. :)
