A beach visit

Shelby had a good time at the beach last week. The beaches here are quite cold, and I typically don't stay for more than 30 minutes. That is — unless I'm with Shelby. There's something about watching a happy pug in the sand that brings new vitality to the entire experience.

AWWW! That's so cute. Thank goodness for the little black ears our pugs have or they would just blend right into the sand.lol

Does Shelby like horses? My pug Polly barks and barks when she sees horses anywhere, in person, on TV or even when she just hears the sounds they make when they gallop. I wonder if she was a horse in another life...

We weren't sure if horses would like Shelby, so we kept them apart. We didn't want a squashed pug. but Shelby did seem to find them interesting.

Loki loves to dig in the sandbox at the local playground, and then stick his head in. I worry about his eyes getting full of sand, has Shelby ever had any problems with that?

Yes, Shelby does get her eyes full of sand. It gets trapped under the eyelid. Ouch! Oddly, it doesn't appear to bother her. We always clean her eyes out after visiting the beach with some bottled water.

hmmm...fair enough, just a little squirty bottle would probably dislodge the sand...

thanks.
