At the desk

At work there is a policy of keeping dogs leashed so that the office doesn't turn into a huge dog run. Shelby kept getting her lead tangled up in my chair, so I gave up and tried putting her on my desk. We used to do this when she was a puppy, so she took right to it. It also made it easier for Shelby to make eye contact with passers-by. And it was easier for people to pet her.

I had walk around the office several times to collaborate with co-workers. I tried getting Shelby to heel instead of keeping her on lead while we walked around the office. It seemed that every time she wandered off, she managed to sweet talk her way onto someone's desk. I found her on our Engineer's desk, and later on, she was on the Founder's desk.

Papers make her look super-smart J She should get paid! Does she sleep a lot during the day?

Normally she does, but when she's at work, there's enough going on that she doesn't get a lot of rest.

Hi Winnie! I check out your blog almost every day & enjoy reading about Shelby's adorable antics. It just so happens that today I brought Pugsley to work w/me, and he had a wonderful time visiting everyone's cubicle, snorting his way around the office! In fact the question I got asked the most was "Is he always this noisy?" As all pug-owners know, pugs are notoriously snorty!

Hi Winnie-It is so nice of you to take Shelby to work with you. Her coat and face always look so velvety smooth. You must take care of her and groom her with care and love. Thanks for sharing Shelby's adventures. We look forward to each story and picture and we learn from
other dog owners on what to do to raise a puppy correctly. Keep the action coming!

I'm jealous! I wish I could take my pug to work.

I'm jealous too, but I work in a pharmacy, there is some sort of silly healthcode about the dogs being around the pills. Oh well, that and pills drop on the floor sometimes and we all know what happens when things drop on the floor. It ends up in the pugs' mouth!!!

I would take a 10% pay cut if they would allow dogs to my workplace! :-)

It's all fun & games at the office until the puggy farts on the boss's desk.

I've seen that thick ban harness on a few blogs...maybe I ask where you got it from? I have been looking for one but have had no luck.

I wish I could bring Sadie to work! she would be all over the place for sure and I just don't trust that she wouldn't eat anything and everything on the floor.

Shelby is very lucky :o)

Hi Shelby,

I also get to go to work with my mom. I mostly sleep on her lap all day but enjoy sleeping on the desk as well. If I am on her desk it makes it easier to blow my snots on her papers. hehe.

A pug's job is never done!

love,
~bodhi the pug

p.s. I think you are really cute!

Dear Winnie,
Thought you might like to know that brussels sprouts are our pug,Twig's favorite treat. She prefers them to many other things. It would be fair to say she goes nuts for them.
