The scooter

Sometimes Steven will roll around on this scooter in the back drvieway and Shelby will chase him. It's terribly funny and cute to watch her chase Steven around. Last week, Shelby was chasing him around on the scooter, and she wasn't paying attention. I was standing there, and she ran, head first and full speed, into my leg. She wasn't hurt. She bounced back up and seemed fine. No limping, no dizziness. Good.

But sadly, ever since then, she won't chase the scooter anymore. She's scared of it. When Steven scoots around, she runs back inside the house.

Shelby and the scooter

We were really bummed about that. It was a happy family moment that we won't have anymore. But I guess it's not too awful. She'll still chase us. It's just going to take a lot more work on our part since now we'll have to run. :P

A similar thing happened to my sister and her non-pug, Maya. They were playing tug and Maya got so excited she bumped her head into a cabinet. She thought my sister had done it to her on purpose to punish her for playing tug, and now she won't play anymore.

You might try getting Shelby to chase the scooter and giving her treats so she knows it's okay. Poor Shelby probably thinks you kicked her! Poor puggy.

Hi! I just love your site and visit it often to learn more about the adventures of Shelby. I first learned of your site by visiting Clover's site (Clover, A Modern Day Webblog) where there is a link to "Bringing Up Shelby". Both Shelby and Clover's sites have inspired me to develop my own blog about Lola. I was wondering if you'd mind if I had a link to visit Shelby's site from Lola's page. I just began this site yesterday (so exciting!!) but please take a look - www.lifewithlola.blogspot.com and let me know if providing a link to your site would be ok.

Thanks and keep up the awesome work on the site!

Shelby became one member of my familly. Every morning we go on the internet to read our emails and Shelby’s newest adventures. I’m a proud owner of a little pug – Ronin –,whom I adore. He is cheering me up every moment.
I hope Shelby is ok after the little incident with the scooter and she will forget about it.
We love u guys! Kisses!
