Donation time!

Thanks to Shelby's readers, we've earned $136.66 for pug rescues this quarter. Last time we donated to Little Angels Pug Rescue. Click on the link, and you'll notice, I've given them permission to use Shelby's Yoda picture to promote their Halloween Howl fundraiser.

This time, the donation went to pugpros.org. If you are looking to adopt a pug, check out their homeless pugs page.

Pugpros also takes care of hospice pugs, little pugs who are too sick to be adopted out, but their foster families take care of them. Some of you may have noticed that we had a new advertiser on the site, barkslope.com. In return for running the ad, I've recieved a bit of extra money from them which I plan on donating to a little hospice pug under Pugpro's care.

Please leave a comment on which pug we should sponsor. (It's too hard to choose!) Meet Pugpro's Hospice Pugs.

well, gemini and scruffy each have only one sponsor while all the rest have more, so that could be one way to narrow it down.

i nearly died of cute overload when i saw zipper, he is almost like a sharpei! so cute wrinkle factor could be another way ;)

and while i'm not a person to get emotional over things i read, i was nearly in tears over dixie. she really grabs me and sounds like she needs someone, but she also is obviously a very lucky pug as she has many sponsors.

not much of a decisive vote, i know, but those are my thoughts, and it's going to a good cause no matter what. way to go winnie :)

I'm partial to Little Daisy and Zipper but they are all so cute.

Oh Boy...who could choose...It breaks your heart but at the same time these little sweethearts are being cared for at least...I shutter to think how many aren't...( I know please don't get into that,right)...anyhow what ever you and Shelby decide on will be fine with all of us I'm sure...I feel like I know you and all your readers and I am very happy to trust your instincts....glad to call you a friend Winnie...hugs to all xxx

I vote for Gemini. She paid a price (although I'm sure she was happy to do so) for being the light of her elderly owner for as long as she could so I'm happy she is being cared for now.

I vote for Zipper too. I am going to get my husband to sponsor one tonight when he gets home. Thank you Winnie and Steve for always keeping the rest of us aware. My Bam is well loved and cared for, I can not imagine abonding him because he was ill.
I liked Little Daisy too.

I vote for Gemini. She looks exactly like my Pugsley. I hope she finds someone special.

All of them are deserving of a donation. They're lucky to have generous friends in you guys and of course Shelby.

Incidentally, Eagle is going as Yoda for halloween as well. It seems to me that Shelby is much more cooperative in costume wearing then Eagle is, though.

I vote for Zipper. He is the youngest Pugger there so he will need a lot of help in his hopefully long life. Also, look at that face! He looks like a little melted Pug!

Hi Winnie! Since we're both pugs we just wanted to say that we think you should sponsor all the pugs. How can you pick just one? However, with much consideration Scruffy got our vote only because he has one sponsor and he has lots of fur problems. Sounds like he needs a back scratcher or something. My mom got so sad looking at these pugs so she made us send you this e-mail. She went to talk to dad to see if we can sponsor a pug, too!

Scruffy, Bubbles, Daisy, and Gemini only have 1 sponsor.

They are all so sweet and deserving. Maybe PugPros can suggest who is most in need. Thank you Winnie, Steve and Shelby not only for your generosity but also for letting the rest of us know about these wonderful organizations. Just because we spoil and dote on our pugs we assume all pug owners do the same; sadly that is not true.

I vote for Scruffy...he only has one sponsor, and sounds like he might be one of the more 'adoptable' ones.
