The only dog friendly car show we know of...

Even though Steven and I live very close to the Good Guys Car Show, they don't allow dogs, so we never get to walk Shelby over there. That's not true of the Billet-Proof car show, and so we pack up lots of water and Shelby, and head over to the Contra Costa Fairgrounds once a year.

Look out Shelby, I think that car is hungry.

It's always funny to see how many of these tough car guys love a goofy little pug. A lot of people stopped us and said "I have a pug too!" One enthusiastic attendee told us that this truck was also nicknamed "the Pug." I think it might be becase they share a similar profile, but maybe someone can enlighten me. I'm just guessing.

And now for a little rest in the shade of the bleachers.
Is that chicken over there?
Shelby's attention is distracted because she found some chicken across the bleachers. Bad girl. You're allergic to chicken. None for you. Instead she managed to score a piece of Steven's burger.

I am the grandmother to a black pug by the name of Apollo. To bad he can't make puppies, because he and Shelby would have the best, cutest, smartest babies ever. Though between us we could never give up any of the little ones.

Hi Briana....That would be my problem too!!
Thank goodness there are people who are kind enough to share their "babies" with the rest of us,or else where would we get our beloved pets...I don't think I could ever give up my Kricket's babies if I had chosen to breed her...My Teddy would have made a wonder Daddy too...he is a sweetheart....

Dear Winnie, do you regret that Shelby will not become a Mommy? I know she will avoid
the dangerous birthing process, but I am sure her puppies would have been extra velvety....and lovely!

No, not really, though the decision was not an easy one for me at the time. Shelby is a happy girl. She suns herself all morning, and she eats great food, and generally is having a good ole time. She doesn't ever give me a look that says "You monster! What have you done to me!"

More often I get a looks that imply she wants to try what I'm eating, or that it's time to play.
