Don't bother me, I'm sleeping
A while ago, I had retooled our old comforter into a dog bed for Shelby. We used it as a day bed for her. Her "nice" doggie bed is in our bedroom. As evening rolls around, Shelby would always settle into the comforter bed, and we would have to prod her to get up. Steven noticed that she was really reluctant to move. Sometimes we'd get tired of waiting and just picked her up and carried her.
I just thought she was tired. Steven hypothesized that Shelby likes this cushy bed more than her expensive bed, and that's why she wouldn't get up. We conducted a test, and placed the two next to each other. Sure enough, Shelby picked the cushy bed that I had made.
So now this is her doggie bed. It's currently sitting on top of her expensive nice bed. Eventually, I think I'll donate her nice bed. I'm sure the local shelter always needs this sort of thing.

Oh no!! :) My guys are like that too.. who needs a bed when a pile of mom or dad's clothes will do!

Mia is like that too. Dogs love to snuggle up in familiar sheets/clothes. I made the mistake of buying a doggie bed as well and I donated it to the local shelter (with other things). Pugs Rule!

Hi Winnie, gee, it must be the familiar scent that entices Shelby to choose your comforter over the professionally made dog bed. Some shelter doggy with no loving parents will get your donated bed....at least they can sleep in a nice clean bed.

I've heard that. That dogs can smell us even after an item has been laundered.

If my bed was as comfy cosy as Shelby's looks,I wouldn't want to move either..after all she just gets it all warm and smelling homey and then you expect her to move....whao don't think so!!!!

My lil girl does the same, when she is really sleeping her nose has to be covered. By her paw, the pillow, her brother.. it doesn't matter.
I don't think I would get out of that either though.. ;)

Aww how cute! We think the blanket bed looks so nice and soft, we would probably have chosen it too!

yeah, I was going to get a nice fancy expensive bed for my pugs once their done with crate training...but I might use an old comforter, instead. This is a good idea! Easier to wash, too!
