False alarm

Well we thought Shelby would become a big sister on Tuesday.

Oops, false alarm. But it gave Steven and I good practice, including dropping Shelby off at my parents before heading off to the hospital. This is the look she gave me while we were rushing around.

Where am I going?

I'm not sure what you all make of this expression, but she kinda looks like she's wondering what's going on to me.

She is wondering just what you are hiding under that shirt. I can not wait to see how she does as a big sister. I bet she is ultra protective.

Shelby looks a bit miffed and anxious about being forgotten in the rush to get you safely to the hospital. Here's hoping she
does not get jealous of the new baby....
I hope her protective instincts kick in and
that she will be the best big sister ever!
We are all praying for a wonderful, healthy
baby for you.

My pugs (Mona (3) and Vinny (1) ) do so well around babies. When my niece comes to stay with us, they guard her crib and alert us whenever she starts fussing. Pugs are good little helpers around babies! I am sure Shelby will make a great big sister!!

When I brought my second child home from the hospital, the prevailing wisdom was to bring a present for my oldest as I brought the baby in. We don't want Shelby to feel like she is no longer number one! That said, can't wait to see that baby! (Don't tell Shelby)

Did you carry and bathe and groom Shelby while expecting? And how did you manage all that shifting of houses with a kid in you? I need a little inspiration from Yu guys.. Hee
