Early to bed

With all this activity in the house, we've all been pretty tired. Little Vin clearly liked the "full service" life he had in the womb. Shelby checks up on him whenever he's crying, which was quite often, when we first came home. This makes Shelby quite the tired little pug.

Heere's a photo of Shelby, having put herself to bed early to get some rest.

Early sleeper

Yes, puglet, I'm tired too.

Mom is staying with us, and she's handling all the cooking, cleaning, and "Shelby care" duties. Three cheers for mom! I'm really happy that Shelby is getting her daily walks, but that she also gets a weekly beef bone. I wish I had the energy to play with her, but I'm recooperating from the delivery, and I'm supposed to be resting.

Wow, Shelby clearly looks poop from nanny activities. Shelby has evolved from a cute little puppy, to a gregarious young girl to a caring and graceful lady. Give her a hug from us!

Oh and Winnie have a good rest during your confinement (if they call it that in your family). Try looking for a place that does post natal massage which apparently assists the mothers in getting the wind and back to shape!

I am glad your Mother is able to stay with you and help out so much. That gives you the time you need to recover.

Shelby looks adorable (as usual).

Apparently, it is hard to rule the world that Shelby lives in. I am glad that your Mother is there to take care of things with Shelby. A pug's life can be so hectic...Take it easy and recover for both of you.

This will pass so quickly it will be a faint memory!! Be sure to smell Vin's head and commit it to memory because there is nothing better! (puppy smell is pretty good too)

Shelby is adorable. And I'm sure Vin is, too. More pictures!

Dear Winnie, it was a good idea to introduce the smell of precious Vin before the actual meeting...and much credit goes to your Mom for handling several necessary chores at once...but especially for not neglecting Shelby. Shelby seems to be performing her big sister duties well and
I hope it continues forever. I know when
Vin is older, he will protect Shelby, too.
Credit goes to your husband for all that he is coping with and I am sure he is the very proud father and thankful husband that you are all safely back from the hospital.
Please take care and rest as much as you can.

Winnie...we just welcomed our baby girl about 8 weeks ago and the best two pieces of advice I got were to sleep when the baby sleeps and to hang in there because it really does get better :) Let mom and hubby do the housework, etc. you deserve and need all the rest you can get!

Thanks! I'm trying to rest and mom's been a tremendous help as Steven has recently had to deal with some house related problems. Plus he also needed to return to work. He's been awesome when Vin wakes at night. I'm not sure where he gets the stamina.

I got tears in my eyes at the first pictures of the nursery, I was so surprised. I worried over the weekend after you went into the hospital because there were no posts. Your website is the first thing I look at when I get to work. Perhaps I need to get a life, but watching Shelby grow brings back memories of my pugs. I have four and they all get along with babies except Elizabeth, my problem child (we are still arguing about who is alpha dog). And she only reacted when the baby hit the note that only dogs could hear. I love your website! Shelby is great. Vin is gorgeous. Stephen needs to learn to post when you can't. And you need to take it easy and get healthy again. Thank you so much for your stories.
