Second breakfast!?

The mornings are hard for me. By then, any pain meds I've taken have worn off, and getting out of bed is still a struggle. Because the morning suck for me, I asked mom to feed Shelby breakfast every morning. Also, this would avoid the pug getting 2 breakfasts.

This morning, I hobbled out of bed. Steven woke up shortly after. Mom was still asleep. I looked at Shelby, and asked Steven to feed her so that Shelby still remembers that she is our dog. :D When I walked by mom's room (aka the nursery) she said "Oh, I already fed Shelby."

Oops! Apparently, Shelby had woken mom up earlier in the morning, and mom fed her and went back to bed. By the time I woke up, Shelby gave me her "I'm hungry" look, and I fell for it, and asked Steven to feed her again.

This is a photo of her, with a serious post breakfast food coma.

Food coma

About 45 minutes later, she was sporting her "I'm hungry" look again.

Dear Winnie, We are sorry you are still feeling pain and weak from giving birth,
and hopefully you will be feeling stronger soon. It is a good idea to have grandma over to take care of Vin and Shelby....and
YOU. Please take good care of yourself and rest. We love all of you guys! P.S. Miss Shelby is looking a bit hefty in her upper
chest area--has she gained weight?

A few weeks of "Denning" up and keeping quiet together sounds like a wonderful idea. Shelby caught on fast at playing the "feed me game" didn't she?? Keep well and take the time you need to get back in balance with a new rhythm to your family life...Love and best wishes....

Pearl did that one time with my hubbie and I. I fed her then he fed her again and the whole time she looked like she HAD to eat. LOL

Now we leave notes if there's any chance of it happening again.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Shelby is a true pug! That old "I'm starving" look always wins in the end. Hope you feel better soon. Shelby's little brother is so beautiful!

Shelby obviously has a PUG appetite! :) And I'm sorry that you're still in pain, but it shall soon be gone and forgotten except for the love in your arms. ((hug))

Pugs are famous for the "starving look".. Even my vets feed Mia parts of their lunches because she looks hungry during their lunch hour when she is there... It is really pathetic that they have the look down so well... I hope that you feel better soon and that your life gets back on track... Take care...

Maybe Shelby sees how many times a day the baby gets fed and figures she should get multiple feedings too ;)

Those first few weeks are killer. There are worse things than a pug getting an extra breakfast out of the deal. Your baby is absolutely adorable. My son is 14 months now and love love loves my pug. They are so curious about each other.

IT was two dinnertime episodes
ago, my pug did that to me. I went out with my Mother and didn't ask my Father if he fed winston.
The pug did not complain and woofed the kibble like he did not eat supper.

When my sister had her first child, I felt for her. Hope you get better in a few weeks.

Too funny.
Poor Winnie. Glad Mom is there to take care of all of you.

Did you have a c-section that left you in such pain? ...

Oooo, our pug does that to us all the time. Now we leave notes.

It was a combo. We started with vaginal delivery and had to switch to c-sect after we realized it wasn't working. So I'm kinda recovering from both. :P

OMG poor Winnie went thru both. So proud for Vin and Shelby to have such a great and loving MUMMY.

Take good care Winnie and hope you will feel better soon. Lots of luv from Malaysia.
