The evils of black coffee
Coffee has been the source of great woe in the household this weekend. Yesterday, I let Vin crawl around the dining and living room, and while I was distracted, he found a cup of black coffee to play with. I heard splish splashing, and found the boy covered in cold black coffee, and sticking his hand in the cup to play with the remaining liquid.
However, this morning, Shelby followed Steven down the hall, and moments later I hear a bunch of words that are not fit for this blog. Shelby had come up so fast behind Steven that she tripped him. She put some serious distance between her and Steven, and now we have a nice stain in the hallway too.
Sigh. Who on earth installs white carpet anyway? Seems to me that Murphy's Law would guarantee that black coffee and wine would be spilled on it.

Honey, as long as you have children and dogs (or any animal) you won't have a completely perfect house! Messes happen, get used to it and try not to sweat the petty things! Try a Magic Eraser sponge on that coffee stain! If that doesn't work, throw a rug over it and pretend it doesn't exist! Just be happy that wasn't HOT black coffee that Vin spilled on himself!

accidents happen, can't tell you how many times i've tripped over one of my pugs, even broke my toe on one of them.....grin and bear it, this is only the 1st of many messes....., now myself, i have pug colored carpeting so the fur just kind of blends in between vacuuming. blessings to all of you....glad to see you back, missed you.

do you have a spotbot? we got one after we got our puggy and it has been such a lifesaver! they're only about $100, and you just drop it on the stain, push a button, and it beeps when it's done. it's a worthwhile investment, especially with a baby and a pug!

After many years of "CRYING OVER SPILLED MILK" and such...I was able to rip up all the carpeting and have laminate flooring installed....love it...even mud paw prints just vaccuum or sweep up after they dry....I too think it was very lucky that the coffee was cold....not to worry...some weeks are just worse than others!!!

Try RESOLVE. This stuff takes out stains that have been in carpet for ages, and it will look like new!!

The day I move into a house with light-colored carpeting is the same day I call the floor people to get the tile ordered. Between the dogs, my coffee dribbling abilities, and my husband's total lack of concern about tracking in outside there is no hope for fibrous flooring!

Only a pug can pull off that innocent look!
As far as the carpet, you ain't seen nuthin yet! The amount of dirt on a carpet grows with the boy child and doesn't stop when they reach adulthood!

That's what I was going to say. 'perfect place for a rug'
I will have to check into the spot bot as my furry child has little accidents from time to time.
If this wasnt' a rental I'd have hardwood floors!

I have two steam cleaners. A bissel spotbot for small ones and a full sized bissel for larger ones/rooms. It has saved the cream colored carpet in my living room more times than I can count. By the way you are not alone with the coffee. Check out the entry on my blog www.mauralynngb.com
