Shelby meets the surgeon
This SPCA had one surgeon. Very experienced. Very gentle. Shelby was very worried at this point, so she is sitting very far from the surgeon.

HI..I love your website. Made me feel so much better when I read about rabies bumps. Freaked me out when I felt it. Anyway, I was wondering what made you think about spaying Shelby? Did you ever think about breeding her with another Pug? I have a 6 month old Pug and am thinking of doing this but hearing pros and cons on this. I would love to have your opinion on this. Thank you.

It was a hard decision, more for me than for Steven. We did it for the health benefits, but as Shelby's grown older we realized that she really didn't like all these would-be boy suitors who would ceaselessly try to hump her whenever she went to the park. So life is more pleasant for her, and we figured if we ever wanted puppies, that we can go adopt a friend for Shelby.
