Her new obsession

Her new obsession

Last week, I invited Shelby to hop up on my lap, and normally, she is quite good, and curls up and takes a nap. However this time, she saw a little sea sponge that Steven and I had poached from a table centerpiece at a crab feed. She immediately became obsessed with it, and started climbing all over my desk to get to it.

I put her down on the ground, and she kept hopping back up on my lap to get to the sponge. After three times, I took the sponge over to Steven's office and Shelby started harassing him. Steven took the sponge and pretended to throw it across the room. She ran to find it, and when she couldn't, she came back to me, convinced that I still had the sponge.

Now I was screwed. Shelby thinks I have the sponge, and I don't know where the sponge is. It took some time to get Shelby focused on something else.

To this day, Steven will not reveal the whereabouts of the sponge.

It's probably something that she smells in the sponge. Not to worry, just don't let her have it, it could get stuck in her digestive tract.

Isn't it funny how they just get obsessed with something and absolutely won't back off from it?!?! DaiseyMay is like that with this one rubber ball that she stole from our daughter. She won't let Chloey have it to play with at all. Gotta love em'!

Kricket from the time she was a pup always
played, every evening with a hard ball that
ya put treats in and they have to roll it around for the treats to come out, this was a ritual for years, now she was getting a little too round and we had to change her "rolly ball" fun to the weekends only, and pugs are so smart she figured out and accepted the change within the first week!!
They are amazing little creatures aren't they???

They are so cute aren't they? I wish they would get obsessed with something they CAN have sometimes though instead of always something they CAN'T have. :-)

Awwwwe give her a treat.

Look at that little puggy tongue!

I can't wait to have a puggy of my very own. Sadly, I live in apartment. I'll have to just enjoy Shelby's blog for now.

I love the expression on Shelby's face. It's got, "Gimme, gimme, gimme...." written all over it!

Are you trying to tell Shelby she isn't spongeworthy?
